Republicans’ Motion to Recommit (Hinson-IA) would expand access to safe and effective oral contraception for those over age 18 by directing the FDA to prioritize the review of, and waive fees for, applications submitted for OTC contraceptives intended for routine use. The amendment explicitly prohibits emergency contraceptive drugs from being eligible for priority review or fee waiver, including “Plan B.”
